Joyti Saksena’s clinical practice lies in hip and knee replacement, complex primary hip replacement and revision hip and knee replacement. He has a special interest in the management of infected joint replacements. He performs arthroscopic knee surgery and soft tissue knee reconstruction including anterior cruciate ligament and medial patella-femoral ligament reconstruction. He has a keen interest in joint preservation surgery of the hip and knee and undertakes procedures to try and prevent the need for joint replacement particularly in the younger patient.

His research interest lies in improving surgical and quality of life outcomes. His aim is to provide enhanced recovery by adopting approaches that improve the whole patient journey from pre-operative assessment to post-operative rehabilitation. He has published and presented his research work in Europe and the USA.

Joyti Saksena undertook a traveling surgeon visit to the USA to visit surgeons who specialise in conservative hip and custom knee replacement techniques.  He has adopted 3D Computer aided planning into his practise and patient specific implants.

Mr Saksena is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon for Barnet and Chase Farm hospitals. He has now joined the Orthopaedic faculty of the Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust.
